In 2025, I entered the Architectural Photography Competition organised by the Wakefield Civic Society with a photograph titled Kirkgate Station at Dawn. The image captured the early morning light over Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station, highlighting the character and atmosphere of one of the city’s historic transport landmarks.
The photograph received a Judges’ Commendation, recognising it as one of the standout entries in a competition celebrating the architecture and built heritage of Wakefield. The event attracted over a hundred entries and was organised to encourage people to notice and document the city’s diverse and often overlooked buildings.
